Srinagar: Home Minister Rajnath Singh is planning an Eid visit to Jammu and Kashmir to review security situation in the state, a media report said.
According to a report in The Economic Times Singh is going to take decision on the extension of unilateral ceasefire besides taking stock of arrangements for Amarnath Yatra, to begin on June 28.
Quoting anonymous state government officials the report Singh is likely to arrive around June 10 for two days.
During the visit, he will convene review meetings with the officials of Army, police, paramilitary forces and the government functionaries to assess the ground situation, the report said.
Rajnath Singh had recently stated that New Delhi was ready to hold dialogue with Hurriyat and Pakistan, to which Hurriyat leaders responded by asking for more clarity over the initiative.
