One of the two militants killed in North Kashmir gunfight on May 31 is a local from Kulgam, Claims family

Kulgam: One among the two militants killed in North Kashmir forest gun fight is a local from South Kashmir, claims family of Parigam Kulgam where on Sunday morning thousands of people assembled demanding the body of Mudasir Ahmed Bhat.

As per Army two non local militants were killed in a gunfight in Handwara’s Kralgund encounter on May 31.

Forces had said that militants opened fire on patrolling party of Army’s 32 RR late night in forest area of Qaziabad in Kralgund. The Army retaliated the fire leading to an encounter.

Two militants were killed and later buried at Reshwari village after being declared as non local militants.

However, the photographs of the slain militants that gone viral on social media attracted the attention of a Parigam Kulgam family who has been claiming that one of the two militants killed in May 31 gunfight is Mudasir.

As per family, Mudasir had gone missing some 2 years back and later It dawned upon them that he has crossed Line of Control and is in other part of Kashmir to get arms training. Since then family were not in touch with him.

The family is demanding that body be handed over to them so that they could bury him with full religious honour.

When contacted, a police official told Kashmir News Trust that they are ascertaing the facts.
