Srinagar: National Conference legislator and former Former Minister Mian Altaf Ahmed on Monday expressed grief over the killings of five civilians in south Kashmir.
In a statement, Mian Altaf Ahmed expressed shock and grief over the loss of innocent lives in south Kashmir and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families while reiterating serious concern over continued and unabated civilian killings in the Valley.
Mian Altaf said that” such incidents could have been avoided if the security forces would have exercised maximum restraint and followed SOP.”
He said that “the law enforcing agencies are refusing to draw lessons from previous such experiences. Such killings are bound to inflame the situation. I demanded an immediate end to this recklessness,” Mian Altaf said.
Mian Altaf urged the central government and state government leadership to take appropriate and immediate measures to avoid the loss of human lives. (CNS)
