Maqbool Bhat’s 34th death Anniversary: Complete Shutdown in Kashmir valley

SRINAGAR: A complete shutdown is observed in Kashmir Valley to mark the 34th death anniversary of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) co-founder-Mohammad Maqbool Bhat.
The shutdown call is given by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Mohammad Yaseen Malik.



All shops and business establishments are shut in Srinagar and other major towns of Valley, while roads look deserted too in most parts of Srinagar.
To curb protest, government authorities have imposed restrictions in areas coming under five police stations of Shehr e Khaas, viz; Khanyar, Safakadal, Maharaj Gunj, Nowhatta and Maisuma, while restrictions have also been imposed in Maqbool Bhat’s native place Trehgam, Kupwara.



Sources said security personnel has also been deployed in many parts of South Kashmir.
Authorities have put Syed Ali Shah Geelani, and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest, while Yaseen Malik has been lodged in central jail, Srinagar, to stop them from carrying out any rally on Maqbool Bhat’s death anniversary.
