Srinagar: The 60-year-old Sanji Ram, a former bureaucrat and the alleged mastermind of Asifa rape-and-murder case Tuesday surrendered before the Crime Branch of the Jammu and Kashmir police, sources said.
According to sources, Sanji Ram believed to be the mastermind of the rape and murder of Asifa Bano- an eight-year-old nomad Muslim girl, who was abducted, raped and brutally murdered in Hiranagar area of Kathua district on January 10 and her body was spotted by villagers in a nearby forest on January 17.
Ram’s surrender comes a day after his son Vishal’s arrest from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district.
