Former Chief Minister and National Conference President-Omar Abdullah today questioned the state government’s move to cancel age restrictions for the Jammu and Kashmir students in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination and said the government should take the step to restore five years of age relaxation for Kashmiri UPSC aspirants.

5. Mirwaiz pays tribute to Maqbool Bhat and Afzal Guru on their death anniversaries
All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq paid rich tributes to one of the founder members of Kashmir’s freedom struggle Mohammad Maqbool Bhat on his 34th martyrdom anniversary by hanging and also to Mohammad Afzal Gur, who was hanged five years.
6. Shopian incident: Army major’s father moves to SC to withdraw FIR against his son.
The father of army major-Aditya Kumar, who was booked by the Jammu and Kashmir police in the firing incident in Shopian last month, has moved to the Supreme Court, seeking to withdraw of an FIR against his son. Karamveer Singh-Lt Colonel said in the petition that his son has been ‘wrongly and arbitrarily’ named in an FIR, adding that the officer’s intention was to save security personnel and property.

9. No ISIS in Kashmir: Minister
Minister for Home (State)-Hansraj Ahir today informed the Lok Sabha that only one incident related to the ISIS reported from the Valley was raising slogans in favour of the ISIS outfit in November 2017, adding that miscreants raised ISIS slogans are the killing of a militant in encounter at Zakura, Srinagar on November 17, 2017.
10. Naveed Jat’s escape: Police cracks case in 4 hours
Additional Director General of police-Muneer Khan today claimed that it took police only four hours to crack the case of escaping of a top LeT militant Naveed Jayt alias Abu Hanzallah, he said we have arrested three militants and one OGW who performed this act, they were identified as Shakil Ahmed, Tika Khan, and Syed Tajamul alias Rahil Kachroo. The OGW has been identified as Muhammad Shafi, who provided vehicle and a bike to the militants.
