VARANASI: Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad today lashed onto the ruling BJP government over the recent militant attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and, mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying his (Modi’s) ’56-inch chest’ was nothing but a ‘hollow claim.’
Azad while addressing Congress workers in Varanasi, claimed that so many militant attacks never took place in Jammu and Kashmir under the previous governments.
He expressed his concern on the recent attacks in Jammu and said that Kashmir was already unsafe and now the Central government has made Jammu unsafe too.
Azad took a jibe at Modi, saying his “56-inch chest” was nothing but a “hollow claim” (kaagzi seena hai).
He blamed the BJP/PDP government for the rise in attacks, adding that if central government is lacking strategy it means then militant attacks will increase.
The suspected JeM militant-led attack on Sunjwan army camp left six soldiers and one civilian dead, while 10 other persons sustaining injuries, that include six women and children. While three militants, wearing army uniform were gunned down in the operation.
