Kangan, August 8: A meeting was chaired by SDM Kangan Mehraj Ud Din Shah which was also attended by CMO Ganderbal Dr RD Kassana, SDPO Kangan Mr Tahir, Medical Superintendent Trauma Hospital Kangan Dr Yasmeena, BMO Kangan, Drug Inspector Kangan and the members of Civil Society Kangan, Traders and Auqaaf.
The administration called suggestions from the Civil Society members regarding health sector and for its improvements. CMO Ganderbal while providing details of Trauma Hospital Kangan said that there are almost 36 posts vacant in the hospital, however, things are being managed to provide quality services within the resources available.
The members of Civil Society Kangan etc raised the concern of lack of USG facility for all working days, unavailability of doctors on Sundays, lack of ECG at PHC Wussan, maintenance of cleanness at the Hospital, non-availability of adequate ambulance service, and proper sanitation facility etc.
It was resolved that USG facility at the Trauma Hospital Kangan will be available for 4 days in a week instead of 2 days, and in place of one doctor on Sunday, there will be two doctors available on the Sundays. It was also said that Administration will open Jan Asadh Yojna Store at the Trauma Hospital where generic medicines will be available for the patients. CMO also promised of setting ECG facility at Wussan PHC and making PHC Kullan, Gund, Hariganiwan, Wussan and Manigam fully equipped. At the last, SDM Kangan assured the members of Civil Society that all other issues will be readdressed as soon as possible.
The members of Civil Society Kangan headed by its Chairman Ali Mohammed Wani thanked the Administration for the on spot redressal of grievances and praised the role of SDM Kangan and other worthy officers present in the meeting.
