Srinagar, May 23: Bhartiya Janata Party today clarified that none of their party leaders have joined Janta Dal (United) as claimed by them. The party said that these people who claimed to be affiliated with BJP has nothing to do with the party and they are not even the basic members of BJP.
Earlier a couple of persons who claimed to be the party leaders of BJP joined JD (U) in presence of its State President GM Shaheen.
BJP Media Secretary Altaf Ahmed Thakur told CNS that those who joined JD (U) are not associated with BJP. “One Rashid Ahmed Sheikh claimed that he was the BJP State Secretary while the fact is that we don’t have such a post in the party,” Thakur said.
“Besides Rashid Sheikh, Mudasir Ahmed, Yousuf Mir, Shabir Ahmed and Bashir Wani tried to affiliate themselves with BJP and termed themselves as district presidents of the party while the fact is that BJP district presidents for Ganderbal, Shopian, Budgam and Bandipora are Bashir Ahmed Bhat, Javaid Qadri, Ghulam Hasan Khan and Wasim Bari respectively,” Altaf Ahmed Thakur said.
