Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday said, while she was addressing the police recruits at the passing out parade in Police Training School in Baramulla district of North-Kashmir that her State, Jammu and Kashmir should act as a bridge of friendship not a battleground between India and Pakistan. Mehbooba urged to the administration of the two countries to make it happen, local media reported.
While addressing the police recruits at the passing out parade in Police Training School in Baramulla district, Mehbooba said that the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir have been witnessing a bloodshed at present.
“As the country moves on the path of development, the opposite is happening in Jammu and Kashmir,” she regretted.
Mehbooba complimented the Jammu and Kashmir police for bravely facing the hardships and challenges while making the eventual sacrifices for the country.
She reportedly told the policemen to maintain law and order as they have to face their brothers to revive peace and in the meantime act with patience and caution.
