NC provincial president Devender Singh Rana also appealed to the people to maintain communal harmony and asked political parties to rise above petty political considerations to ensure that the bouquet of the state, which comprises three regions of Ladakh, Kashmir and Jammu remains intact.
Rana accused PDP-BJP coalition partners of trying to divide the people to hide their total failures on all fronts besides creating new jobs.
“A well-planned conspiracy was hatched (by the coalition partners) to divide the people and make them fight (against) each other to divert their attention from total failure on all fronts, including governance, development, and employment, besides (creating) opportunities,” Rana said.
Referring to the ongoing protests in parts of Rajouri over the issue of district status and rape-and-murder of a nomad muslim girl in Kathua district of Jammu region, Rana asked the Centre to focus on the region “to prevent the crisis before it gets out of our hand”.
They are not only the enemies of the state, but the whole nation,” Rana said, adding that they are taking the state towards a “historic blunder” by their acts.
Replying to a question about raising of pro-Pakistan slogans by protests in the Rajouri district, he condemned it terming it “wrong”.

The Jammu Muslims:
After the Partition of India, during September–November 1947, more than 200,000 Muslims were massacred and others driven away to West Punjab in the Jammu region of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, thus changed the demography of the region from Muslim majority to Muslim minority region of Jammu and kashmir. The killings were carried out by extremist Hindus and Sikhs, aided and abetted by the forces of the Dogra State headed by the Maharaja Hari Singh. The terrorists belonging to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) played a key role in planning and executing the riots.
In August 1948, The editor of The Statesman, Ian Stephens claimed that 500,000 Muslims, “the entire Muslim element of the population”, was eliminated and 200,000 “just disappeared.
Dawn published in January 1951, which said that about 200,000 Muslims went as refugees to Pakistan in October–November 1947. An unidentified organisation in Pakistan counted refugees from Jammu and Kashmir during May–July 1949, and found 333,964 refugees from the Jammu and Kashmir.
