Since tensions are growing between India and Pakistan along the LoC, ceasefire violations were discussed during the flag meeting with Pakistan.
New Delhi: The Indian Border Security Force on Friday refused to share sweets with Pakistan Ranger at the Attari-Wagah Border on the occasion of India’s Republic Day due to the present situation along the International Border and Line of Control (LoC).
“Atmosphere was such that no exchange of sweets took place with Pakistan Rangers. I think in the coming time old tradition of exchanging sweets will be revived soon,” Director General of BSF KK Sharma was quoted as saying by ANI
Since tensions are growing between both the neighboring countries along the LoC, ceasefire violations were discussed during the flag meeting with Pakistan.
Sharma said that the ceasefire violations was the main issue of discussion during the flag meeting with Pakistan and both sides agreed to restrict the ceasefire violations.
Both the countries accuse each other for ceasefire violations along the LoC, however ,Sharma said that BSF never initiates the ceasefire violation.
The meeting was the first between the two sides since “heavy shelling and firing was experienced on the IB during the last week”, the border guarding force has said in a statement.
