Govt keen to bring Peace and Normalcy back in Jammu and Kashmir: Naeem Akhtar

Naeem accused some TV channels of unleashing the violent campaign against Kashmir and Kashmiris which is further worsening the situation in Kashmir.
JAMMU: Minister for Public Works Department Naeem Akhtar assured the assembly that government is keen to bring peace and normalcy back in Jammu and Kashmir and is making efforts in this regard.
Naeem while speaking during the discussion hour over Shopian killings said that Chief Minister Mehboba Mufti is concerned about the issue and she has taken the matter of civilian killings with defense ministry and government has also ordered the probe into the incident.
Naeem said we need to find a durable solution to this issue and to end this series of violence that is disturbing us heavily, we need to cut all barriers.
Naeem said, “Dialogue is the only solution to an ultimate way for the resolution of the state’s problems.”
The atmosphere is being created by vested interests to disrupt the peace efforts and militant-related incidents are also disturbing the peace processes, Naeem added.

Earlier in the day assembly was rocked with the protests and condemnations by opposition legislators over the Shopian killings on Saturday, opposition leaders and some PDP MLA’s demanded the discussion hour to replace normal proceedings which forced Speaker Kavinder Gupta to allow a discussion hour over Shopian killings to happen.
