Fresh firing starts in Sopore, At least two militants trapped, Train services suspended

Sopore, Sept 13: At least two militants are trapped in Teliyan Mohalla Arampora locality of Apple Town here in North Kashmir’s Sopore town.

Latest reports said that intermittent firing is going on between trapped militants and Government Forces in the area.

Sensing trouble, authorities have ordered the closure of all educational institutions while internet service has also been sanapped.

Reports said that a large number of people have assembled in surrounding areas of the gunfight spot while massive deployment has been made to ensure no disruption in the operation.

A Police official said that all the civilians have been evacuated to safer places.

Meanwhile, Train services have been suspended between Srinagar and Baramulla as a precautionary measure on Thursday following a gunfight between militants and government forces.

“We have suspended train services between Srinagar-Baramulla in north Kashmir for security reasons,” a railway official said.

However, trains continued to chug on Budgam-Srinagar-Islamabad – Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal to Jammu region as per schedule, officials said.
