LONDON: Member of British House of Lords, Lord Nazir Ahmed, vowed to continue, ‘Free Kashmir’, ‘Free Khalistan’, ‘Free Assam’, and ‘Free Nagaland’ campaign against Indian rule and claimed that these campaigns have rattled the Indian authorities. Dunya News reported.
On 26th of January, hundreds of demonstrators called for Independence of Kashmir and Khalistan against the Indian oppression of minorities outside the Indian High Commission in London.
Kashmiris and Sikhs traditionally demonstrate on India’s Republic Day outside the Indian High Commission in London to express the desire for their freedom from Indian rule.
Surprisingly this time around Indian lobby took a strange step and came to counter protests held by Kashmiris and Sikhs. Some Indians came carrying placards, alleged Sikhs, and Kashmiris of being terrorists, shouting ‘Modi’ ‘Modi’ got into the fight with Lord Nazir’s supporters and once it was clear they were getting more strong reply from Sikhs and Kashmiris seeking self-determination, they left the place quickly in order to avoid an embarrassment.
Lord Nazir accused Indian Media of making the hue and cry about the peaceful protests and claimed that RSS supporters attacked them in front of the High Commission. Lord Nazir asserted that Indian tactics can never make them give up their legitimate aim.
Meanwhile, day after the campaign, Facebook blocked the ‘Kashmir Global Campaign’ page in India, the page was created by non-resident Kashmiris (NRKs) to highlight Kashmir issue and aware the International community.
