Mendhar: Five members of single family were killed as the armies of India and Pakistan traded heavy fire and shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar area of Poonch district in JK on Sunday.
Reports said that shelling began around 7:35 am today in the Balakote sector of Mendhar.
They said that a shell landed at the house of Muhammad Ramzan at Devta, killing him, his wife Malka Bi and three sons. Two of his daughters have been critically injured.
The deceased have been identified as Muhammad Ramzan (45), his wife Malka Bi (45) and three sons – Muhammad Rehman (19), Muhammad Rizwan (18) and Muhammad Razaq (8).
The police official said heavy shelling was going on from both the sides.
The shelling was going on till the reports last came in.
