Women’s commission chief, Nayeema Mehjoor criticized news channels saying that the venom they spread is enough to destroy the whole subcontinent, without any army or nuclear bomb needed.
Nayeem Mehjoor in her tweet said, “News channels….u don’t need enemy country, army or nuclear bomb to destroy Kashmir, ur venom is enough to detonate it to the extent that it will also engulf whole subcontinent into destruction…”
Nayeema was probably annoyed by some English new channels which questioned the state police for lodging an FIR against the Indian army’s 10th Garhwal unit over the killing of two civilians in Shopian on Saturday.
“Harbouring hate kills ur heart first before it damages ur enemy’s…. replace hate with love n u will find peace within u,” Nayeema said in her next tweet.
Dineshwar Sharma, center’s Special Representative on Jammu and Kashmir had earlier urged Union Minister Rajnath Singh to call a meeting with certain television news channels to ask them to not spread ‘vicious propaganda’ against Kashmiris.
Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had also asked the Centre government to address the issue of news channels coverage of the state, according to a report by The Hindu.
Meanwhile, following the FIR lodged against the army over Shopian killings, a harsh argument had erupted between the ruling partners BJP and PDP in the state Assembly on Monday, forcing the speaker of the assembly to suspend the question hour.
