CRPF man, civilian injured in Hyderpora blast

Srinagar, July 7: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man and a civilian were injured in a mysterious blast in Hyderpora area of Srinagar on Saturday.

SSP Budgam Tejinder Singh said: “It was a mysterious blast as such no evidence of grenade was found there”.

The officer further said that it was a deployment of CRPF 25 battalion for routine ROP in Hyderpora area where the mysterious blast occurred resulting in injuries to a civilian and a CRPF man.

The injured CRPF man has been identified as Sadashiv Putty and a youth Mohd Jibran (19) of Hyderpora. Both the injured have been hospitalised where the condition of both of them is stated to be stable.

Earlier, there were reports that suspected militants lobbed a grenade on the CRPF party leading to the injuries to the duo.

Soon after the attack, forces launched a hunt to nab the assailants, reports said.
