KARACHI: Mani Shankar Aiyer has hailed Pakistan wishing to resolve issues with its neighbor through dialogue, saying that New Delhi does not own this policy. GeoTv reported
“There is only one way to resolve the India- Pakistan issue and that is by way of uninterrupted and un-interruptible dialogue,” he said.

Former Indian diplomat turned politician Mani Shankar Aiyer who is in Pakistan to deliver a keynote speech at this year’s annual Karachi Literature Festival, has said that he is “proud” of Pakistan for having this policy, however, he lamented that New Delhi does not own this policy.
“And I am very proud and half very sad that this sentence of these three words has been accepted as Pakistan policy, but has not been accepted as Indian policy.”

He further said, “I love Pakistan because I love India. India should love thy neighbor as thyself.”
Aiyar also stressed that ‘Kashmir’ and terrorism are the two key issues which need to be addressed, his words were appreciated by the audience present in the function.
Aiyar’s love for Pakistan has irked Indian media and hence media has already created controversy over the issue.
