Babri Masjid Dispute: Muslims leaders willing to move Masjid to another place, says AOL

New Delhi: Art of Living founder (AOL)-Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, on Friday, held a meeting with Muslim leaders, including members from the All Muslim Personal Law Board and Sunni Waqf Board, in renewing his mediation efforts on Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi dispute in Ayodhya.
After the meeting, the AOL said members of the Sunni Waqf Board, All India Muslim Personal Law Board and other scholars met Ravi Shankar and pledged their support for an out-of-court settlement in the Ayodhya issue.

The statement said, “They have supported the proposal of shifting the Masjid outside to another place. Many Muslim stakeholders are cooperating in this matter,” an AOL statement said. It said that 16 leaders from multiple organizations attended the meeting at which representatives and scholars from various states were present too.” A bigger meeting is slated to be held in Ayodhya soon.”

The meeting was attended by Maulana Syed Salman Nadvi-Muslim personal Law Board executive member, Zufar Farooqi-Uttar Pradesh Sunni Waqf Board chairperson, an AOL executive said.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s spokesperson-Gautam told media reports that 16 organization were present at the meeting, adding that “Gurji’s motive is to end the dispute as soon as possible and do this peacefully.
Athar Husain told that another meeting can be held in Ayodhya in March, where clerics and seers will discuss the issue.
