Kupwara: The Indian Army is on high alert amid fresh ceasefire violation and a possible Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT) action in Tanghdar sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday.
Army sources told India Today that at about 3.40pm, a fresh ceasefire violation took place where the Pakistan Army attacked with small arms including 82MM mortar at Jall and Ghasala areas.
The periodic exchange of fire was going on till late in the evening. and additional reinforcement was rushed along the border amid alert in wake of possible infiltration by the militants and BAT action.
Two army personnel of Pakistani side were killed in the retaliatory action, the Indian army officer claimed.
Meanwhile, the army 28 DIV in a statement said that the troopers along the Line of Control (LoC) are strictly maintaining the vigil.
“Our troops along the Line of Control in north Kashmir continue their strict vigil to foil any nefarious design of infiltration by Pak forces to support their proxy war and foment trouble in Kashmir,” the statement said.
