Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police today filed a charge sheet against Lashkar-e-taiba militant group and 11 other people for their involvement in Amarnath attack in July 2017.
The probe was completed by the Special Investigating Team headed by Deputy Inspector General of Police (South Kashmir) S P Pani in six months after the first arrest was made in the case. PTI reported.
Eight Amarnath pilgrims were killed when unknown terrorists fired indiscriminately on the bus carrying pilgrims on the outskirts of Anantnag in July 2017. The pilgrims were on their way back to Jammu.
People in Kashmir condemned the attack on the pilgrims and Police blamed militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba for the attack.
After being blamed for the attack by the police, a LeT spokesman condemned the attack and termed it against the teachings of Islam. LeT denied they were involved in the attack, blaming it instead on the Indian intelligence agencies.
