If 4% Rajputs Can Fight Against Padmaavat, Why Can’t 14% Muslims Fight For Shariat: Asaduddin Owaisi

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad MP and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President, Asaduddin Owaisi,  was addressing a public meeting held at the Nagpada Junction on Tuesday, urged Muslims to fight for ‘Shariat’ and called them to learn from the  Rajputs, who are fighting to “protect their culture”, over the Padmaavat protests.
Claiming that Rajputs have shown Muslims the mirror,  Owaisi said, “Their rani was shown in bad light. Four percent Rajputs stood up and said will not allow running the movie (Padmaavat). They said will burn theatre, cut actor’s nose, behead director, but will not allow a movie to release. They are 4 percent, we are 14 percent. They have got their way through, we are still helpless.”
During the address, Mr. Owaisi spoke against ‘Triple Talaq Bill’ and further said that the justice in the name of Triple Talaq is a medium to target ‘Shariat’.
Supreme Court on Tuesday denied to revise its earlier order which had cleared the decks for the nationwide release of ‘Padmaavat’, saying people must understand that orders of the top court have to be “abide with,” a bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Mishra said.
While dismissing the plea bench said, “We are not inclined to modify our order,” it further asked the states to follow its order and gave them the liberty to approach it again “if the situation arises”.
The Supreme Court has already declared the nationwide release of ‘Padmaavat’ on January 25.
