Srinagar: 115 Kashmiri youths were today inducted into the Indian Army at the passing out parade held in Srinagar. India Today reported on Monday
After a hard training of one year, a total of 219 youths, including those from Kashmir, were happy to be part of the Indian Army.
The family members of the new soldiers also attended the passing out parade that was held in Srinagar.
Brigadier Suresh Chowhan, who is the commander of the JAKLI Regiment Centre, briefed the role of the JAKLI in many wars fought during the last 5 decades by India.
Lt Gen A K Bhat, a core Army commander of the 15 Corp, was the chief guest at the passing out parade.
The selection comes in the backdrop of the militant attack in the Sunjwan base camp in Jammu earlier this month in which five Indian soldiers and a civilian were killed.
